Scientific Advisory Board

Our Scientific Advisory Board was established to serve as a scientific resource, assisting in the development, definition and growth of ABPathfinder. The primary purpose of the ABPathfinder Scientific Advisory Board is to offer advice, guidance and constructive criticism in the following areas:

  • Therapy and Education Performance
  • Company Operations
  • Sales and Marketing Activities
  • Use and Implementation of ABPathfinder Technology
  • Business Development Activities
  • Advocacy and Community Outreach

The members of the ABPathfinder Scientific Advisory Board have been carefully selected as a reflection of their knowledge and efforts in the Autism Therapy and Special Education communities.

Dr. Linda Heitzman-Powell, PhD, BCBA-D, Licensed Psychologist
Autism Therapy
Linda Heitzman-Powell

Dr. Linda Heitzman-Powell serves as an advisory member on the board of ABPathfinder. She is a Research Assistant Professor, Center for Child Health and Development, University of Kansas, School of Medicine and the Director of Community Research and Training in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Heitzman-Powell has served on the Kansas Legislative Task Force on Autism and is a member of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA). She works with children with autism and assists parents in creating ABA therapy plans. Dr. Heitzman-Powell earned her MPH in 1997 from San Diego State University in Public Health/Health Promotion, her Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Kansas in Human Development, and did post-doctoral work in Behavior Analysis at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the Child Development.

Anne Holmes, MS, CCC, BCBA

Anne Holmes, MS, CCC, BCBA

Anne Holmes has worked in the field of autism for over 30 years and currently owns an autism therapy consulting practice. Prior to that, Ms. Holmes was the Chief Clinical Officer for Eden Autism Services, headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. Ms. Holmes received her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Douglass College and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence as well as New Jersey licensure. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She is also an adjunct faculty member of Rider University. Ms. Holmes is the current Chair of the Autism Society of America’s Panel of Professional Advisors.

Ms. Holmes has written numerous papers and articles and is the primary editor of Eden’s curriculum. Her present focus is on aging and medical needs of individuals with autism.

Dr. Jay Buzhardt, PhD

Dr. Jay Buzhardt

Dr. Jay Buzhardt serves as an advisory member on the board of ABPathfinder. He is an Assistant Research Professor at Juniper Gardens Children’s Project through the University of Kansas, and Vice-President of Instructional Technology at Integrated Behavioral Technologies. Dr. Buzhardt’s interests focus on the development, implementation and evaluation of technology-based instruction and assessment through the integration of web-based instruction with traditional face-to-face and classroom training. Dr. Buzhardt earned his Ph.D. in Child Psychology and a Masters in Child Development at the University of Kansas, and holds a BA in Psychology from Auburn University.

Lee Stickle, MSEd
Special Education
Lee Stickle

Lee serves as an advisory board member at ABPathfinder. Lee is the Director of the Kansas Instruction Support Network. Her career spans more than 25 years in education including work in therapeutic recreation, special education, and behavior disorders. Lee has presented at the international, national, regional and state levels and has provided technical assistance to families and educators. She has garnered honors along the way, most recently the 2010 Special Educator of the Year award from the Kansas Association of Special Education Administrators. Lee earned her Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome at the University of Kansas.

Stuart Jackson, PhD

Stuart Jackson serves as an advisory member on the board of ABPathfinder. He is President and CEO at AnalyzeDirect, Inc. a Kansas City-based medical imaging software company. He has served in lead technical roles at Mayo Clinic and the University of Illinois. Stuart holds a MBA in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Materials from the University of Sheffield. Stuart, who is the father of Joshua diagnosed with severe autism, is active in advancing awareness of autism and working to get states to pass laws for health insurance coverage of treatments for autism. He is an active member of a number of organizations including Autism Speaks and Epilepsy Support Group.
